The only reason that is not law right now, the ban on stock trading, is because Chuck Schumer and the Democrats in the senate blocked it from coming to the floor.

Why we checked itSpecific causal claim that Senate Democrats/Schumer blocked a stock trading ban from reaching a floor vote — verifiable against Senate legislative records.
What we foundSenate Democrats did block the specific Republican-authored stock trading bill (the Stop Insider Trading Act) from advancing on September 30, 2026, but the claim that Democrats are the 'only reason' a ban is not law overstates the case, as Republicans also blocked multiple Democratic stock trading ban proposals earlier in 2026 and Democratic alternatives never received a House floor vote.
