Why this verdict View evidenceHide evidence
Why we checked itSpecific claim about a steel mill and 1,700 jobs coming to South Iowa — verifiable against announced economic development projects
What we foundA steel mill is indeed planned for southeast Iowa with approximately 1,750 permanent jobs announced, but Hinson's figure of '1,700' is a rounded-down approximation, and 'South Iowa' is a geographic imprecision for the actual location of Lee County in southeast Iowa.
